Striano

The municipal area of Striano (province of "Napoli" or Naples) extends over 7.5 km2 (square kilometers) and has a population of app. 7,500.  At 22 m(eters) above sea level, Striano lies at the foot of the Vesuvius.  Naples is at a driving distance of 31 km.  It is believed that Striano, a word coming from the Latin language, got its name from the way its citizens have been cultivating their land since many generations, in stripes.
