Piazza dell Duomo di Milano

The "Piazza dell Duomo", Milan's main square, is surrounded by a number of famous structures such as the Basilica di Sant'Abrogio, the Palazzo Settentrionale which is accessed through the world renown Galleria dell Duomo (officially named Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II for its dedication to the king), and the Palazzo Meridionale. 

In the middle of the square is the equestrian monument to king  Vittorio Emanuele, sculptured by Ercole Rosa in 1896.  At the end of the Galleria is the world famous Piazza della Scala enclosed on one side by the Teatro della Scala and on the other side by the Palazzo Marino  which is currently Milan's City Hall.
